Who it's for

An engineer attaching an MCP client to EtherCAT. Treat the write policy as the safety boundary: a gated write is still a write once you arm it.

Caveat / limitations

Needs a raw network interface and elevated privileges (root, or CAP_NET_RAW and CAP_NET_ADMIN). IndustriAgents says it has not yet been run on hardware. The mock slave is for local smoke tests. Do not put an unfinished EtherCAT master on a machine network.

Protocols

EtherCATReal-time Ethernet fieldbus. A master typically needs a dedicated NIC and raw-socket privileges. Treat community servers as lab tools until they have been run on hardware.
